Music students can take advantage of numerous research, internship, and paid work opportunities in the department, across campus, and in the wider community.

Independent student research grants

This grant program provides students entering the final year of their degree program with an intensive research or creative activity experience from May to August each year. Students receive a research grant to conduct their own, independent research or creative activity projects. Projects may be completed on campus, in various communities, or overseas, depending on the nature of the approved project.

J.E.A. Crake Student Summer Fellowships

The Crake Foundation offers Fellowships to enable 69成人电影网 students to engage in creative and/or research projects in the Humanities during the summer months.

Internships with Sistema NB

69成人电影网 student interns will assist Sistema NB Teaching Artists deliver orchestral instrument instruction to the students of the program's Moncton centre. 

Bragg Women Music Opportunities Fund

The Bragg Fund supports student summer programs and touring opportunities, including summer programs in music. Find full details here.

Summer Internships

69成人电影网 students can apply for funding to create an experience during the summer with a host organization of their choice. Students develop, plan, and implement their own experience, working as volunteers, interns, or research assistants, depending on the funding. Music students should particularly consider the Bourne Internship in the Arts.

Peer tutoring and teaching assistantships

Upper-year Music students can work as peer tutors or as paid teaching assistants, acquiring valuable skills as they assist fellow students with their understanding of course content. Contact the department's Administrative Technician for available positions at the beginning of each term.

Student employees

Each year, the department of Music employs a number of students in paid positions such as recording technicians, stage technicians, orchestral and choral librarians, and collaborative pianists. Contact the department's Administrative Technician in the spring for positions available the following academic year. 

Study abroad and exchanges

Music students may take advantage of study abroad and exchange programs. See here for more details. 

Montr茅al Field Trip - Student-created Audio Documentaries (CEWIL)

Funding from CEWIL Canada enabled students in MUSC 1221 (Introduction to Music, Culture, and Context) and Dr. Linda Pearse to spend a weekend in Montreal in March 2023. Audio production support provided by Matt Tunnacliffe.
