1960s

In July 2024, alumnus Maryel FitzRandolph ('60) visited New Brunswick from her home in Scotland, with visiting MtA as a must. Joined by family members including sister, Bliss FitzRandolph ('64), including some visiting from New Zealand, she shared the special experience of exploring the campus together. During the visit, they even took time to enjoy a little football on the grounds. Pictured in the photo is her son David Hebblethwaite, his wife Yus Yusof, and their children, Isla and Kyle Hebblethwaite. Perhaps we see some future Allisonians in this photo!

On March 15, 2025, 3 generations of Bowmans will be performing in Carnegie Hall. Pam Steeves Bowman ('68), son Chris Bowman ('01), and granddaughter Erica Bowman, will be part of the choir singing Missa  Pro Terra, written and conducted by Parrsborough composer, Paul Aitken. This Mass for the Earth had its World Premiere in Truro, NS, on November 2, 2024, at which time the Mount Allison Choral Society (Conductor Kiera Galway) joined with Truro's Cantabile Singers (Artistic Director, Chris Bowman). The joint choirs also sang an "Informance" of the work in Brunton Auditorium. What a special time!

1970s

David Fox ('77) retired as Vice President in Architecture at Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani on May 31, after practicing architecture in multiple design fields, including hospitality, historic preservation, healthcare, industrial and governmental, in the U.S. (licensed in 10 states and District of Columbia), the Caribbean and Bermuda for the past 44 years. Mr. Fox is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Franke James ('79), BFA, has recently published her fourth book, Freeing Teresa: A True Story about Fighting Ableism. The spark for Freeing Teresa was lit ten years ago in 2013. Franke helped her younger sister, with Down syndrome, get out of a nursing home, regain her decision-making rights, and get an official apology.

1980s

Terence Dawson ('81): I am retiring from the UBC School of Music at the end of this academic year after a 33 year career, including almost a decade as Chair of the Keyboard Division. Moving to Russell, Ontario — outside of Ottawa — and looking forward to reconnecting with friends in the area and many more trips to the Maritimes. So many fond memories of my undergrad years and the fun we had as the Class of '81.

1990s

Diana Richmond ('91): Jennifer Kirby ('91) and I met in first year at MtA in 1991. Still friends 33.5 years later. This photo was taken in Calgary, AB in Jan. 2025.

2020s

Don Patrick Martin ('20):  I just finished teaching my very first university course as McGill Univeristy as a Professor of Indigenous Music. The course titled Indigenous Music in Cosmologies — A Hands On Approach connects Iroquoian Music to its Cosmological World Views in a philosophical and musical frame.

In January 2025, Annika Bell ('24) had the opportunity to be a guest analyst for the MtA women's hockey game against Saint Mary's, working alongside Steve Ridlington ('75) for their first on-air broadcasting experience. It is fitting that their passion for broadcasting first began when they reached out to Kenzie Lalonde ('16) during their second year at Mount Allison. Kenzie's success working with the NHL and PWHL has been a major inspiration, fueling Annika's aspirations to pursue sports broadcasting. Included is a photo from this past May, when Kenzie invited them to shadow her during one of the PWHL games.
