Shaping the future, one voice at a time
By: Carolle de Ste-Croix ('90), Editor of the Record

At the heart of every Allisonian is a simple wish — that current and future students experience the same transformative, life-changing education that shaped our own journeys. The friendships that became family, the professors who pushed us to think deeper, and the moments that defined who we are today— these are the threads that bind us to Mount Allison forever.

Now, it’s our turn to pay it forward.

Mount Allison is in the midst of building a new strategic plan, a process that will chart the course of the university for years to come. And while this plan must reflect the needs of today’s students and those yet to come, the voices of alumni are a critical part of this conversation. After all, who better understands the long-lasting impact of an immersive liberal arts and sciences education than those who have lived it?

The survey sent to your inboxes in February was your invitation to help shape Mount Allison’s future. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to participate. Your input is invaluable. Every response helped ensure that the life-changing opportunities we experienced will continue for the next generation.

Strategic planning co-chairs Dr. Rachel Rubin and Dr. Craig Brett (’91) are leading a thoughtful, consultative process designed to listen deeply and act intentionally. Your feedback through the survey will directly shape decisions that impact everything from academic offerings to campus resources and community engagement.

Thank you for being part of this important conversation and for your continued dedication to Mount Allison. It’s your voice, your experience, and your commitment that help keep this community strong and thriving. You can find out more about the strategic planning process at mta.ca/strategicplan.
