Letter from the Class Executive

Dear members of the Class of 1983,

May 2023 brings us to our 40th Reunion. It is time to reminisce about our University days and reconnect with fellow classmates. I am sure we all still remember the afternoon beer gardens with Ryan’s Fancy, football and rugby games on the back campus, Winter Carnival with Bryan Adams, Junior Prom, residence parties and yes, the many hours spent at the library where some of us became very competent at hanging the rails. All these great memories and stories can be shared once again as we travel back to good old Sackville, N.B., on the May 12-14th weekend.

Many events are planned for all of the Reunion classes. Our class residence will be Thornton, and we hope to have one of the lounges booked for the weekend as a meeting place. It will also be a place to grab a quick drink (or two) before we head out to some of the planned events. Friday night features an East Coast Lobster dinner (w/ham option) followed by a good old East Coast Kitchen Party featuring the band, Signal Hill. This sounds like a great way to start the weekend.

Our Saturday schedule includes the alumni luncheon with our class photo. Afterwards, the afternoon is free to either take a stroll around the campus and downtown, enjoy a waterfowl park guided tour, or win some swag at MtA Trivia at the campus pub…or at our age, maybe a nap is in order.

The Alumni Banquet is Saturday night, followed by the Garnet & Gold Gala. The lounge at Thornton will also be available that evening for folks to chat, catch up, and tell stories. Our hopes are that the musicians in the class will bring some of their instruments and in true Maritime tradition, bust out a few songs of their own in a tribute to our classmate Art Drysdale. We know he would do just that!

Check out our 69³ÉÈ˵çÓ°Íø as well as the 69³ÉÈ˵çÓ°Íø website for the 2023 Reunion details.

If you know of classmates that don’t know about our reunion, please feel free to contact them and extend the invite. Let’s make this the best turn out yet!!

We hope to see you all in May!
